Why not Wix or a page builder

They are fine for a hobby. For a business that lives on search they are slow, they are hard to rank and they hold your site hostage to a monthly fee forever. We have moved enough Bronx businesses off them to have a strong opinion.

Do accessibility widgets make a website ADA compliant?

No. Plenty of the 2025 suits named sites that already ran a widget and still had barriers in the code underneath. Filings against widget users held steady all year, and the people who counted them concluded widgets do not materially reduce legal risk. The fix lives in the markup: a label on every form field, real text instead of pictures of text, contrast that passes, and a keyboard that reaches every button.

When do town and county websites have to meet the ADA rule?

The Justice Department pushed the dates back one year in April 2026. Cities and counties with 50,000 or more people must meet WCAG 2.1 AA by April 26, 2027. Smaller towns and special districts have until April 26, 2028. The rule reaches the forms residents use to apply for or pay for services, whenever they were posted, and the vendor tools embedded in the site.
